Account and Subscription
From sign-up and importing a subscription to using multiple devices, this section answers the getting-started questions first.
Do I need an email address to sign up for VPNFN?
No. Signing up only takes a username and a password — no email address to fill in and no verification email to wait for. Once you are registered, sign in to the user panel to see your plan, orders and subscription link, which saves the back-and-forth for anyone who just wants to get connected.
Where do I find my subscription link, and how do I import it into a client?
Sign in to the user panel and copy the subscription link from the overview page. Paste it into the subscription field of your client (Clash-based clients, Shadowrocket, sing-box and others), save, then update the subscription once and the server list will appear in the client. The subscription link is tied to your account, so please use it only on your own devices. Step-by-step import instructions for each platform are in the Guides.
Do I have to buy again when I switch devices? How many devices can use one account at the same time?
No. VPNFN puts no limit on the number of devices, and the same account can be used on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux at the same time. When you move to a new device, just sign in to the panel, copy the subscription link and import it into your client — there is no need to unbind the old device.
What if I forget my password?
The sign-in page of the user panel has a recovery entry. Because registration is not tied to an email address, if self-service recovery does not work, open a ticket in the panel with the username you registered with and roughly when you registered, and our team will verify the details and help you out.
Does the service log browsing activity?
VPNFN follows a no-logs policy: it does not record what you browse, which destinations you visit or session data. On the account side, only the information needed for registration, orders and tickets is kept.
Connection and Troubleshooting
If you cannot connect, or you are connected but a particular app is not routing, work through the checks here in order.
The client keeps spinning and will not connect — what should I do?
Check four things in order. First, manually update the subscription in your client to make sure the server list is current. Second, switch to another line in the same or a nearby region and try again. Third, check that your system time is accurate — a large clock offset causes handshake failures. Fourth, temporarily turn off the blocking rules in your local security software or firewall and retry. If all four steps fail, open a ticket in the panel and include the client name, your OS version and the exact error message.
Why does a particular app not go through the proxy?
Some apps use their own networking implementation or system-level connections and never pass through the client's proxy tunnel. You can switch the client to global mode, or use a client that supports TUN mode to take over all traffic. If only one or two apps are affected, it is usually because that app does not use the system proxy — not a problem with the line.
The client says "invalid link" or "format error" when importing a subscription?
In most cases the subscription link was copied incompletely. Use the copy button in the panel rather than selecting the text by hand, and after pasting check that the parameters at the end of the link were not cut off. Also make sure the import method matches the link type: Clash-based clients use subscription import, while a single-node link should be pasted into the "Add node" entry.
Installed on macOS or iOS but it will not connect, and a permissions error appears?
On macOS, the first install requires you to allow the network extension in System Settings and to confirm in Network settings that the VPN configuration has been added. On iOS, the first connection prompts you to add a VPN configuration — tap Allow and enter your device passcode. If you declined earlier, delete the old configuration in System Settings, import the subscription again and reconnect.
The client says "subscription expired"?
This usually means your plan has expired or you have used up this month's data. Sign in to the panel and check the expiry date and remaining data on the overview page; after renewing the monthly plan or buying a data pack, go back to the client and update the subscription once and the server list comes back. An imported subscription does not renew itself — you need to update it after renewing.
Speed and Server Lines
The combination of line type and time of day has the biggest effect on your experience. This section explains how to choose and how to compare.
Slowdowns at peak hours — how should I choose a line?
Prefer lines labeled as IEPL dedicated: the dedicated channel does not pass through public international gateways, so it holds up better during evening peaks and congested cross-border periods. Next, try another city in the same country, or work through the region groups in your client one by one to find the most stable line for that time of day and stick with it. The full server grouping is on the Servers page.
What is the difference between IEPL dedicated, relay and direct lines?
Direct means the client connects straight to an overseas node. It costs the least but is the most exposed to fluctuations on international links. Relay routes traffic through an entry point in mainland China before it goes overseas, which makes it more stable than direct. IEPL dedicated lines run over enterprise-grade dedicated channels and are the most stable during evening peaks and cross-border congestion. Direct is fine for everyday browsing; for video calls, live streams and large file transfers, use a dedicated or relay line.
Why is my speed test much lower than expected?
Speed test results depend on your local broadband, Wi-Fi quality, the location of the test server and the time of day. Try a wired connection or 5GHz Wi-Fi, pick a test server on the same ISP, and test again outside the evening peak. If the same line is clearly slow at several different times, compare a nearby city or another line type, and attach a screenshot of the test to your ticket.
Which line should I use for streaming?
Streaming is sensitive to both bandwidth and the location of the exit IP. Choose lines marked as supporting streaming in the server list, and prefer regions close to the platform you are watching. If playback says a proxy was detected or the quality will not go up, switching to another line in the same region usually helps. Details on region unlocking are on the Streaming page.
AI tools will not connect or keep asking for verification?
AI services run risk checks on exit IPs, and IPs that have been widely shared or flagged tend to trigger verification. Choose a low-latency line of the dedicated or relay type and keep the same exit IP for the whole session instead of switching often. Web access and API calls have different network requirements; for developer setups see the AI Tools guide and the ChatGPT page.
Billing and Refunds
Prices, billing periods, upgrades and refund rules all match the Plans page.
Which payment methods are supported?
Monthly plans and data packs both support three payment methods: Alipay, WeChat and USDT. After placing an order, choose the matching channel on the Orders page in the panel to complete payment.
How do I request a refund?
VPNFN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee: open a ticket in the user panel with your order number and a short note about the refund, and once it is approved the amount is returned through the original payment channel.
If I upgrade mid-cycle on a monthly plan, how is the price difference calculated?
A mid-cycle upgrade credits the amount you have already paid for the remaining days, so you only pay the difference to the new plan — there is no need to buy a full new period. The upgrade entry is on the Plans page in the panel.
Should I choose a data pack or a monthly plan?
Monthly plans reset data every month on the day you started, with three tiers: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB and ¥28/month for 500GB — a good fit if you use it every day. Data packs last until used up and never expire, with three tiers: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB and ¥658/3000GB — a good fit for irregular use such as occasional business trips or a one-off binge. For help estimating your actual usage, see the data pack vs monthly plan comparison.
When does monthly plan data reset?
It resets every month on the day you started, not on the 1st of the calendar month. If you started on the 15th, your allowance resets on the 15th of the following month, and so on. When you upgrade mid-cycle, the amount already paid is credited for the remaining days and applied to the price difference.
If I pause for a while, will the data in my data pack expire?
No. Data packs last until used up and never expire — a period without connecting will not reset them to zero. Monthly plan data resets every month on the day you started.
Didn't find your answer?
Open a ticket in the user panel and include your operating system and client, the name of the line that failed and the exact error message — that shortens troubleshooting a lot. You can also read the Guides first: sign-up, purchase, getting your subscription, importing it and verifying the connection are all covered step by step there.
